Together, We Can
Make A Difference

Key Issues

Food

FOOD

PHFTC provides food to feed two afterschool programs and several orphanages in Romania and Puerto Rico. In addition, we supply a Roma village co-op with food  that they may  purchase at a reduced price to feed their children. Additionally, we contribute to water systems when wells have been contaminated. Your support not only feeds children, but alleviates potential abandonment by parents who can’t afford to feed their children.

Hygiene and Health

HYGIENE AND HEALTH

PHFTC provides hygiene products such as: shampoo, lotion, detergent, and feminine products to our partner hospitals and NGO’s. In addition, we purchase vital medical items as needed for hospital use such as thermometers, scales and nebulizers. Though the pediatric hospitals we work with have budgets they aren’t always able to stock the facility in an appropriate manner.

Baby

BABY SUPPLIES

Because of your support PHFTC is able to supply items such as diapers, wipes, toys, stuffed animals, and books to pediatric hospitals in Romania and Puerto Rico. Sadly, babies are left for weeks and months at a time in Romania before a parent returns or the child is placed in foster care. These children are termed social babies. In PR, the hospital houses medically fragile foster children that cannot live in a typical foster family due to their conditions. Our goal is to assist the hospital by providing for babies living at the hospital, giving as much stimulation and comfort as possible.

Sustainability

SUSTAINABILITY

Through your donations, PHFTC has been able to help build a classroom, kitchen, as well as food and storage buildings for our after-school program partner. We also purchase paper bead bracelets from female entrepreneurs at a local NGO, sell the beads, then reinvest the profits into a food co-op therefore empowering women and keeping children in the homes.

Stand with Ukraine

We, at PHFTC, are heartbroken for the Ukrainian people about the ongoing invasion by the Russian government. PHFTC is directly connected to this issue, because not only are the Ukrainians our fellow human beings and children of God who are suffering, but also because the mission of PHFTC originally started in Romania, which immediately borders Ukraine. So we might say the Ukrainians are our ‘neighbors,’ so to speak. In the Bible, Mark 12:31 tells us, “Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” PHFTC providing support with the special needs refugees and by providing Romanian language Bibles for those interested.
